E-flite Scale SR-71 Blackbird Radio-Controlled Aircraft

For years, many RC airplane enthusiasts have dreamed of flying a Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird. E-flite has answered this call and brings you one of the most iconic jet airplanes to date, the officially licensed E-flit SR-71 Blackbird Twin 40mm EDF BNF Basic Electric Jet Airplane. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney J58, the full-sized jet airplane still holds the record for highest and fastest flight (85,069ft at Mach 3.3/2,193.2mph). Now E-flite gives you the ability to fly one of the only jets to ever outrun a missile.

E-flite took special care to ensure the scale looks of this airplane. While E-flite couldn't spring for J58 Turbines, they did give it two powerful 40mm EDF capable of extremely high rpm. The included optional landing gear increases the scale looks and can be removed for increased speed and maneuverability. Made from fully-molded EPO foam, E-flite was able to recreate crisp panel lines and other scale surface details. The included Spektrum electronics boast AS3X making this one of the easiest, and most practical RC SR-71 Blackbirds to date.

Skill Level 3

Even with the equipped AS3X, it is not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots or a first-ever EDF jet model for intermediate to experienced RC pilots. High-performance EDF experience is recommended for anyone looking to fly this speed machine. If you are looking for a good start, E-flite recommends the Habu STS as a purpose-built trainer EDF jet airplane.

NOTE: Even with two EDFs and a 4S LiPo Battery, you may need to correct LA Center to show you are "a little closer to 2000 knots" (Major Brian Shul - LA Speed Check Story).
